I bought this to stop our dog trashing the living room every time we go out, it works a treat. She's a medium sized dog (Cavapoo). While this wouldn't stop her (or anything of a similar size or larger) getting through if they were super determined, it's enough of a deterrent and sturdy enough that she doesn't really try anyway. Easy enough to install, but I'd not bother with the stickers they provide, just use some blu tack until you've marked all the holes to drill then you can remove it before screwing in, I feel like the stickers will make removal a complete pain for when we move house in the future. Either way, it's a good buy if you've got the funds, not the cheapest option, but works well for us as we wanted something that wouldn't make our doorways any narrower.

I am using this at the top of my stairs to stop the sausage dog racing (and falling) down stairs when the doorbell goes. It took a little while to install myself, it is easy, just took some measuring and triple checking. it is so neat, i forget it is there when i am not using it and does the job perfectly. I cant comment on for a child, but for what i need it for it is perfect.

I bought this to baby and dog proof a large doorway and it's brilliant. It's smooth to pull out and easy to lock. It was easy to install. My 3yo worked out how to unlock and lock it within minutes so I wouldn't use it for high safety areas like the top of stairs. It's used to keep my 9mo and my dog in one room though (not at the same time!) So does the job. Its really tall too so kids can't just step over it like baby gates. We'll worth the money!

Amazing stuff, easy to install. It appears good quality and probably would last. I have had it for well over a month, basically keep opening and closing several times a day. I'd recommend it, it opens wide and so can be installed over non standard door frames too
