I recently purchased this pressure-fitted stair gate, and I couldn’t be happier with its performance. Installation was incredibly easy, taking just minutes with the only tool needed being the included spanner. The pressure-fit mechanism holds the gate securely in place, making it a perfect choice for renters or anyone who wants a fuss-free setup. One of my favorite features is how smoothly it operates. The gate can be opened and closed with just one hand, which is a game-changer when juggling a toddler or carrying items up and down the stairs. The build quality is impressive - sturdy enough to withstand my active toddler’s attempts to climb or shake it. Even when he leans his full weight on it, the gate stays firmly in place, giving me peace of mind about his safety. It has green/red colour indicator near the latch to indicate that the gate has been fitted correctly and is secured in place. If you install the gate wrong, it will stay red until you rectify your mistake. The gate also has a little latch at the bottom so if you only want to open the gate in one direction, you can do so. Very handy feature. It’s high enough for my toddler who is 2 years old but, by the time he can climb over the gate… he shouldn’t really need it anymore anyway. Once that time arrives, the gate will be super easy to remove without damaging the wall and I will re-use it for my 2nd child. Price - I think it’s very fairly priced. Cheaper gates are available however, I like the build quality so I was happy to pay the tiniest bit more for this gate. Overall, this stair gate is an excellent choice for busy parents looking for convenience and reliability. Highly recommended!

Satisfied with the quality, ease to set up in less than 10mins. It utilises a pressure technique on both sides to keep the gate intact, hopefully it doesn’t affect the integrity of the wooden guardrail on my stairs. Aside from that am very pleased with the product.

Bough from amazon warehouse and in perfect condition other than an open box and the zipties cut (did not affect how easy it was to install). I think a lot of people return these thinking they are bent out of the box - they are meant to be to ensure a tight fit! When you install them and screw them tight, the bent post then goes straight which is explained in the instructions, but perhaps not in the clearest way. Works fine as a stairgate but if it is even slightly out of level (which can be a bit tricky to get perfect) the gate will swing open/closed if unlocked. A bit more resistance on the gate hinge would be nice so it was less likely to swing about if not level but its a very minor issue especially as its sold as a basic stair gate.

I have tried several stair gates and found this SecureTech gate to be the best for build quality, security, smart looks, and simplicity of installation. There are four SecureTech gates fitted in our house and our daughter's, and we have had no issues. I ordered the 7cm extension kit as the top of our stairwell is too wide for the standard gate, which works a dream. The instructions are diagrammatic and need to be studied before you put the parts together and start the installation. The gate looks out of true when taken out of the box, but this is intentional. When the four spindle rods are tightened the gate is compressed and everything aligns, which provides the tension to help hold it in position. I like the green colour on the lock that confirms the gate is fully locked. It remains red until the gate has been correctly locked. Two actions need to be made at the same time in order to unlock the gate. With practice an adult can unlock the gate with one hand. However, the double action provides security as it means a toddler will not be able to unlock the gate. For the quality and the security, this gate offers excellent value for money.

Easy enough to fit. Need adjusting from time to time. All worked fine for a few months however the slide mechanism was always stiff. Last night the latch that pulls back to allow the gate to close or open stopped retracting so I loosened the gate so we could allow it to slip on and off. In trying to video the fault as requested by the supplier the release slide-switch snapped. So whilst it did the job it's build quality is a little weak. The item is not specifically listed on the Safety 1st site and so I only hope they will be sensible about what to do next. I really should give it an extra star but as we've had it for a relatively short time I expected better.

Muy buena puerta que llegó enseguida y lo que mas me gusta es la seguridad que tiene para abrir y cerrar tienes que deslizar el botón gris superior hacia adelante mantenerlo así mientras aprietas el botón inferior por debajo y abres la puerta hacia fuera o hacia adentro y encima un doble seguro en la parte de abajo que si no estan subidos te será imposible abrirla, por lo que para niños es ideal y en mi caso para mi perrita que mordía cualquier puerta que le poníamos esta ya no puede. Se ve de muy buena calidad y aunque en un. principio se me hacía algo cara y me lo pensé antes de cogerla, he podido comprobar que es justo lo que andaba buscando y no me arrepiento en absoluto se ve resistente y duradera.
