Looks stylish (not ugly like a white gate) and fits a narrower doorway. Very sturdy too. My 2 year old likes to attempt to escape (he will literally swing and try to barge against it) but this gate keeps him in!

Fairly easy to fit, although it should be noted that you need to use the plastic cups that are provided for it to be secure. They are attached to your walk or door frame with double sided sticky pads, and make for a good sturdy fit. Good points; well made gate. It easily fits in a door frame, meaning we can keep our toddler in his room without worrying about the stair gate at the top of stairs being shut (we also have one across the kitchen door - essential when cooking!). Opens in either direction. Swings shut and locks behind you with ease. Not so good points; (see photos) opening the gate involves sliding a catch sideways on top of the gate, and lifting before pulling or pushing the gate. It only needs to be lifted a few mm, however, this process over time lifts the hinge end up and out of the position that it should be permanently fixed in, meaning that the gate is not perfectly square in the frame. Even if it is slightly raised at the hinge side, a cunning toddler can just shove the gate and it opens. Not good. If you buy this gate, (particularly for top of stair use!) you need to be very aware of this and ensure that you regularly push the hinge end back into the correct position. It is something that I do when I walk away every time now, just to be sure. I first noticed this within a week of owning, and it is the same for both units that I own. It can probably be glued in place to solve the problem.

We got this gate for our caravan, to keep the baby away from the door and it works perfect. With a caravan being quite narrow, most gates just won’t fit, but this is perfect. Installing with the pressure mount system can be tricky in the small space, but easier then using a drill, and keeps baby safely away from falling out the door.

it does work, but it slides down the wall after a few times of the kids rushing through it and slamming it closed. I have tied it with industrial cable ties around the stair case now so it slips less. But still... if it were at the top of the stairs to protect a child i'd rate this on star. But mine is at the bottom of the stairs to stop a puppy running freely into the kitchen so nothing too serious.

If you like the look of this product, or indeed as was my case it was somewhat wider and a better fit to the top of my stairs then go ahead. But bear in mind (a) you have to install some mount holders permanently onto the bannister or wall and bannister in my case and that in my opinion the aperture of the gate is rather narrow. In fact, and I am by no means a large person, I kept bashing my hip against the opening and realised I had to step through it sideways to get through. There must be better and more convenient products out there. Were it not for the fact that we only need this installed when my granddaughter visits (and it can be removed in between) I am not sure I could live with this gate for a long length of time.
