This has been a total lifesaver in our home! But this gate stood strong like a security guard at a VIP event. It’s sturdy enough to withstand his best attempts to break in, and I have to hand it to him—he’s persistent! While it does the job perfectly, I occasionally wish it came with a “secret passcode” feature for adults to access the kitchen without drama. This gate is working for its intended purpose, which is to temporarily discourage my dogs from coming into the bedroom while I recover from surgery. However, the latch to close it doesn't work because there is a gap between the gate and the frame. I admit this could be an installation error, but I really don't see how it could work unless the whole thing was installed at an angle and with great force on one side. That said, it's doing the trick because we just use our toes to flick down both of the little plastic pegs at the bottom which prevent the gate from opening the wrong way. Certainly more fiddly than using the latch as intended, but it does what it needs to do. This solution wouldn't hold up to a very determined dog or a toddler though. The gate itself seems sturdy enough and the manufacturing looks like good quality. I'm happy with what I got for the price I paid, particularly as I had read all of the reviews and knew there was a fairly good chance it wouldn't work perfectly.

It’s narrow for a standard staircase. You need the extension pieces that are not included. The lock is good, and child proof. Cheap but really need to work properly to justify.

I purchased this when I bought a new Puppy to confine hinto the kitchen area when I was out and also during initial Puppy training. The gate is strong and sturdy and also a good height. I only have a small dog so the height wasn't really an issue. It took me around twenty minutes to install, you don't have to screw it to the door frame however you can do that if you want, screws etc are supplied with the gate. I went with the alternative method of fitting which was easy. I particularly like that the spaces between the uprights on the gate aren't too far apart. My dog can't get his head through so no mishaps! Overall a really good purchase. Safe for my dog and no worries for me.

Lo uso già da diverso tempo per dividere 2 ambienti dai gatti, impossibile da aprire anche per un bambino un po' più grande perché il meccanismo della serratura è un po' più complicato, con una mano sola abbastanza difficile e poco pratico da aprire ma ci si fa abitudine. Un po' piu alto rispetto ad un cancello standard, i gatti non riescono a saltarlo via. Molto soddisfatto, materiale molto solido e robusto, possibilità di attaccare senza viti in modo da poterlo staccare in un attimo e riposizionare altrove.

We wanted a gate to keep the cats out of the kitchen. This gate is high enough to persuade the cats from jumping over and easy enough for a human to open with one hand. Been using it consistently for over 6 months and it's fantastic. The photo shows cloth on the sides because our kitten was small enough to get through the gaps. Now that she is grown up we can probably remove them and she won' get through. I would definitely recommend this if your cats are not keen jumpers.
