I can't understand previous negative reviews. The gate replaces a old Orvis dog gate which would cost £189 to renew, so we thought we would give this gate a go. This gate is well made and well worth the money. it doesn't open both ways independently but can open either way with minor adjustment. DON'T make the mistake of cutting the cable tie before fitting as the gate and frame will spring open and look twisted as someone previously complained thinking it was faulty. It is not, as you tighten the hand wheels on each corner against your door frame or wall the gate straightens against its frame forming a secure fitting. We are very happy with the gate. My advice is read the instructions, look at video online before fitting. Once you get the hang of it , you will have a quality secure attractive gate for your dog or child.

After buying a puppy I forgot how much "pet proofing" I needed to do. This gate is a must have all though it says pet gate will be great for children as well. I love the auto close feature it's brilliant my puppy runs behind me so it quick and easy. The lift and open function is so easy to use. The gate is extremely easy to put up. You just put the screws in and spin to fit. No marks on the stairs or walls. I would highly recommend this product.

Our gap is just 1cm shy of the maximum yet this gate did not fit. It needed extra padding. Then the gap either side was so big our dog could get through. I needed to strap other stuff onto it. At this setting the gate is also not sturdy at all. It has collapsed several times. Not much of a barrier.

It is generally a very good gate a lot sturdier than baby gates and very easy to install - I installed it in less than 10 minutes. The only downside is it’s not that tall and my dog worked out how to jump over it which is a shame because the gate is excellent in every other way. Also added bonus - the colour looks amazing!
