This is a high quality item and so easy to install I didn't even need to use the instruction leaflets. The fittings supplied are plentiful, 3 different types to suit whatever you're fitting too, brick, wood or plaster board. Also, they include more than needed incase you lose a screw or simlar. Fits nicely in front of skirting boards due to sliding lower bracket closing. My use is a barrier to keep my Dogs out of the Conservatory and works perfectly. Just wish I'd purchased one sooner.

Decided to buy this to replace my old metal framed inside gate which had aged terribly. Compact design was nice and the fact I can retract the gate when not needed is a bonus. Easy to set up with some small drilling required (came with the needed plugs and screws). Simple to operate and lock in place. When using I would advise keeping a firm grip on the gate as the retraction spring is very strong and you can get things wrapped up if not careful. Simple to fix if your hand does slip though. Overall I was impressed with the product and am enjoying the restoration of the open planned floor in my house. Amazing how one gate can make things seem closed in.

Great product, really good value for money. Rolls away nicely out the way, needed an extra wide one to divide my kitchen and lounge area and it does the job perfectly. Really easy to install, and use. Only issue I have is my puppy does occasionally try and get over/under it as it’s quite flimsy.. but appreciate it needs to be to be able to retract so not a product issue. It does come with some suction cups which can be clipped to the floor to hold in place but I haven’t tried them yet. Overall really pleased with the item for the price.

It looks quite nice but isn’t the best quality. It’s nice though that it’s extra long, that’s why we bought it. Very strong pull which is annoying when closing it, especially on a long gap, but is good when a little child or pet tries to get through. Has to be wall mounted as the pull is too strong for glue or similar, comes with two sets to use which didn’t work with our wall but at least it gives options.

100per cent worth the money! We got it for our 1 year old for the patio doors as we live in an apartment, -it’s so easy and less hassle than other ones we have had ! Definitely recommend for baby’s or pets !

Bought this as a divider in our open plan house but our 16kg corgi can easily squeeze underneath and the clips it comes with to further anchor the material are impossible to do up and undo without lying flat on the floor. Overall it’s totally impractical and doesn’t work. The gate is also dangerous if not locked in place, as the rewind on the fabric is so strong it would severely hurt a child or dog that got in the way. Total waste of money I’ll be taking it down tomorrow!

Pros: It looks nice FYI: You need to make a full commitment to where you want this, and use stronger anchors than what is provided with the contents. The full commitment is needed, as you are making this gate a permanent fixture in your home. You are making holes in your walls that will need real drywall repair, and paint, whenever this gate is removed. Cons: 1) If you accidentally leave the gate unlocked, while the gate is extended and latched onto the hooks: if you accidentally let go of the gate, it has strong force and will slam all the way back to the base, and can rip the base out of your dry wall. You absolutely must lock the base, after you extend the gate to the hooks. 2) Once you latch the gate to the hooks, and you lock the base, you cannot unlatch from the hooks. That’s good, as far as the kids not being able to unlatch it. But when you are ready to unlatch it, you absolutely need to think it through, and first unlock the base, and then go to the latch side and firmly grip it, and do not let go, and you need to guide it all the way back to the base. 3) The commercial for this shows a lady, holding a baby, reaching down to unlatch the gate, and walks through. No. No holding anything. Haha. Unlatching this gate often is a no go. Latch the gate and leave it that way. This is not a walk-through-all-day gate. If you want a gate you can walk through, throughout each day, get a gate with a door you can open and shut. The retractable gate is not that. 4) When the toddler decides to pull on it with full force, you have high worry of the base, or the latches, coming out of the wall, and destroying your drywall. 5) For the reasons above, I do not see this gate lasting long, unless we latch it and leave it there almost permanently. And keep kids away from it. I can’t imagine a dog jumping on it. Your drywall won’t last long. It looks nice though. While the dry wall holds up, however long that may be.

TLDR. Good gate for keeping kids and some dogs out. Easy to install like the adjustable mount to fit over trim. Out of the box this feels sturdy the parts are solid. Installation is pretty simple mount the brackets on the wall you can place it over your molding and still keep it horizontal to the ground or very close. Grab a friend and have them pull it out to mark where you are mounting the anchors. Overall simple install. Durability: thus far the retraction is holding up after a month or so of heavy use we go in and out constantly. The lock has held up even though our 120lb GSD goes over it and our boxer lab goes under it. The only issue this has caused is a sag at times, if you have curious dogs they will rest their head on it. Dogs going under it may cause the top to unlatch. Overall the retractable spring and lock are solid. Practically: for kids it's great unless they follow the dogs trend to go under. For dogs it depends do they test their bounds? If so larger dogs will realize it sags and go over it. Smaller dogs will realize it's flexible and go under it. While I think these are great for large openings you don't want a big metal gate sitting in they can't stop stubborn creatures.

Install was not hard once we found studs. Works great because it doesn’t need a straight across doorway, can be installed on an angle to close off areas. Easy to open and close for adults. Have to retract slowly or it will snap back and wrinkle. Good value and size for the money! Looks nicer than bars and when it’s open and away nothing to step over or trip on.
