I bought this to block off my front door because one of my cats has been urinating on the floor in each corner!! She only does it here - I'm guessing because she can't see out and knows other cats are outside. She’s fine with the back door because she can see through the cat flap, but I refuse to put one in my front door as well! Works a treat but is an absolute pain in the neck to install. I'm a seasoned DIYer but this really tried my patience and nearly ended up in the bin! Grrrr.

Ok for large dogs but useless with small dogs and cats as they can just run underneath it with it being flexible, waste of money for us with two cats and a shih tzu but like I said, would work for bigger dogs I guess.

It's been a few years since I needed a baby gate, but I've actually got this to stop the dog from going upstairs. It's a huge upgrade to the old metal baby gates I used to have, which only had very narrow openings, and were hard if a toddler happened to fall against them. This gate was easy to install - took my husband around half an hour. It looks modern and sleek and the grey colour goes well with my decor. The retractable design allows for maximum space to walk through, and when retracted it doesn't feel claustrophobic. The locking mechanism works smoothly and is easy to operate. The gate can also accommodate large openings, so would also be suitable across patio doors or across an open-plan area. It used to be quite difficult to find gates to fit specific openings - this gate takes away that stress. The fabric doesn't feel as sturdy as a metal gate, but if I were buying this for a toddler I would be happy to know that they're not going to hurt themselves on it, or get a limb stuck in the bars. Great gate. Reasonably priced. Would recommend.

I've installed the gate in my campervan to provide a 'privacy' screen when the large sliding door is wide open in warm weather. This will deter our two dogs from jumping out but they will still be able to see us when we are outside. One big advantage is that the complete unit can be removed for the winter. The transparency of the curtain would be a problem for those with dogs that want to jump out or start barking whenever they see another dog but for 'sensible' dogs it's perfect. (Our dogs have never been sensible but they're now too old to bother about being a nuisance.) For £41.37 it's a worthwhile purchase.

Retractable Baby Gate. This was fairly simple to fit using the easy to follow instructions. The quality is good and it feels very sturdy, this covers an opening up to 180cm which is in excess of what most people would need.
